Keitech swimbaits

I have used these for three years now and am always satisfied
The durability is not quite the same as a lot of the other hollow bellied models, BUT it more than makes up for it in the tail wagging motion
- it creates a lot of motion(vibration) in the water - as opposed to the rolling motion of a lot of the other swmbts.
It also, depending on how it is rigged, can be a very versatile swimbait. You can wake it weightless across the surface - makes for a really great finesse surface lure; you can use it on an alabama rig on jigheads; you can use it on a heavy open hook jighead for deeper fish in clear open water; you can put a tungsten slip weight on the line not pegged, and vary the weight depending on what depth the fish are holding .
Rigging it on the alabama rig has beet really productive - my best fish (8 lbs) on Lake Fork last month came on keitechs rigged on one (3.8" model) and the smallies decimated it last fall on Oneida.
A bit of plastic gluing the nose to the jighead helped the durability a whole bunch.
Rigging the 5 armed A-rig, I generally use all one size - 'cept for one - I make one either larger or smaller than the other 4 - seems to help the fish target in in one - If I don;t have a different size, I use one just slightly diff color (darker/lighter) version of the same shade...
I love my Keitechs - AND they have a tailed version of their soft jerkbait (which are awesome too), which I have started using this year!! |
