The Penn Defiance Conventional Reel is here and equipped with a lightweight graphite frame and sideplates. But the frame is enhanced with stainless steel rings to make it more rigid and prevent it from flexing. The spool is made from anodized aluminum which is forged and machined for lightness and strength. The main gear is made from machine-cut marine grade bronze with a hardened stainless steel pinion. Add in HT-100 carbon fiber drag washers, line capacity rings and a 4 shielded stainless steel bearing system and you may have the best reel you can find in this price range.
